Other dances that might be incorporated into the yearbook are a Winter Formal or Winter Ball, and of course junior and senior proms.

Getting involved in you high school is easy to do with the various high school student led societies also known as clubs. Clubs are available to help the school and to help the students to accomplish tasks such as fundraising or collecting money for the group. Much of the community is benefitted from school clubs as well such as non-profit organizations, public service, professional responsiveness and mingling or organization dynamics. These wonderful highlights will be congratulated in the year book

Making new friends, getting involved, and having a social life can be complicated in the teenage realm, but clubs give you a sense of fitting in to a group, a similar concentration bond, the ability to make new friends, and the time to socialize with friends. Many students decide to join a club of some sort throughout their high school career, and find it a rewarding experience.

There are many different types of clubs that students can be a part of including, but not limited to academic clubs such as the Spanish club or Spelling club; Honor clubs such as the National Honor Society. Though clubs are involved with the school, they don't have to be based on academics, hobbies and special interest clubs such as art, fashion or cooking clubs are also there to join as well as Fund raising clubs like the booster clubs, career clubs like computer clubs, and military clubs or ROTC.

Because you will be captured and remember in the yearbook for many years to come, you will want to look your best. It is fun to reminisce with friends while showing old yearbooks and see how much hairstyle, fashions, and trends have transformed.

Yearbooks used to memorialize the past year of high school; they can also be used by the elementary schools, middle schools and most colleges. In high school and college, the majority of the yearbook is put together by the committee, and the yearbook pictures are done by the students.

Yearbook Pictures are Important Because?

There are times in everyone's life that have been caught on camera. Some of the pictures makes one smile or they can bring back painful memories. One of the most trying times for teens comes when it is time for yearbook pictures to be taken.

Teenage years are very memorable for many people. There are clubs that are joined and activities they participate in, bringing them many opportunities to be in the yearbook. Others aren't as social and have to make the best of the few chances to be in the yearbook.

There are so many times that a person's yearbook is looked at, for so many different reasons. This is an album recording one of the most important milestones in people's lives. Yearbook pictures can be seen by anyone, parents and grandparents, future kids and grandkids and even future in laws. Those are some of the reasons a nice yearbook picture should always be taken.

Keys to a Great Picture

Schools normally give a lot of notice as to when individual yearbook pictures will be taken. They are often the same pictures that are taken at the school's picture day. Once the announcement has been made, students should start to think about what their pictures will look like.

Students should plan what they will take their yearbook picture in. It sounds so silly but it can be important. If the student forgets what they want to wear on the day of pictures and goes to school dressed sloppily, the pictures will look sloppy. Is that what people should remember? Students should make sure their appearance is neat and well groomed.

Silly antics should be kept to a minimum. Sticking one's tongue out or crossing the eyes is funny as a teen. But as an adult, those moments can make people cringe in embarrassment. Some photographers won't allow a retake and if there are any regrets, many students is still stuck with that silliness captured as their yearbook pictures.

Smiling is the most underrated thing a person can do to change their appearance. It can make a sullen face appear happy and it conveys a message of pride in themselves. Yearbooks hold pieces of people's history and that shouldn't have a moment of unhappiness that can be relived over and over again. A physical smile will only last a moment but a smiling picture will last forever.

Some teens don't think yearbook pictures are all that important. It can be something looked upon with sorrow or pleasure. Many years from now, friends and classmates still look at their old yearbooks, reminiscing and laughing at pictures. The face that is presented that day will be the same face presented over and over again.
